Painted in egg tempera with vermillion and other pigments on a chalk base mixed with a natural glue. "Hanan Pacha" is Quechuan for 'world' above". The paper was handmade in Chazuta, Peru and is made from the vine of a sacred plant. The star is gilded with real gold leaf.
The piece is inspired by the amazon jungle, the use of natural remedies by the quechuan people of the region and their shamanic rituals including Ayahuasca.
